Pharmacist in Chicora, PA

A licensed pharmacist is needed for a contract assignment in Chicora, PA, with an initial timeline of one month and the possibility of extension up to eight weeks. This role offers a 40-hour workweek with the following pharmacy operating schedule:

• Monday through Friday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Saturday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Sunday: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

The position involves utilizing pharmacy operating systems including QS1, Docutrack, and PCC to ensure accurate medication dispensing and patient safety. Key responsibilities include:

• Reviewing and verifying orders entered by data entry technicians for skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice
• Inspecting blister-packed medications as well as sterile and non-sterile pharmaceuticals
• Responding to phone inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, providing clinical guidance as needed
• Counting controlled substances and maintaining accurate perpetual inventory records
• Checking and managing emergency medication boxes

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
• Active pharmacist license in good standing in the state of Pennsylvania
• Minimum of 1 year of pharmacist experience; long-term care (LTC) experience preferred
• Physical ability to perform duties requiring sitting, standing, fine motor skills, and visual acuity; able to lift up to 30 pounds
