Provide critical pharmaceutical care in a 25-bed critical access hospital environment supporting Emergency Room, Labor & Delivery, and Med-Surg units. This pharmacist role emphasizes hands-on experience with minimal oncology exposure and serves approximately 10–12 patients daily. The facility utilizes Cerner EMR and Pyxis systems, enabling seamless medication management and patient care.

Schedule and Hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Saturday and Sunday: 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM
  • Rotation pattern: 7 days on, 7 days off

Responsibilities:

  • Dispense medications accurately and efficiently using Pyxis automated systems.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize medication therapy in ER, L&D, and medical-surgical settings.
  • Utilize Cerner EMR for all documentation, order verification, and communication.
  • Monitor patient responses to medications and adjust therapies as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and legal regulations regarding pharmacy operations.
  • Provide patient education on prescribed medications and potential side effects.

Desired Experience:

  • Licensed pharmacist with experience in acute care settings, preferably with exposure to critical access hospitals.
  • Familiarity with Cerner electronic medical records and Pyxis automated dispensing systems.
  • Strong clinical skills in ER, Labor & Delivery, and Med-Surg patient populations.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively during consecutive workdays.

This contract assignment starts July 6th and extends for 13 weeks or longer. Candidates should be prepared for a travel role with flexibility to relocate temporarily.
