A pharmaceutical opportunity is available for a dedicated pharmacist to provide expert medication management and patient care. This short-term contract role involves working the 2nd shift with rotating weekends to support seamless pharmacy operations.

Location: Chula Vista, CA
Type: Contract (4 weeks)
Schedule:

  • 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM
  • Rotating weekends

Responsibilities:

  • Accept and dispense prescription medications with accuracy and compliance
  • Monitor patient medication adherence and identify over-usage patterns
  • Ensure all medication supplies meet legal and regulatory standards
  • Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy documentation meticulously
  • Counsel patients regarding medication usage, side effects, drug interactions, and storage
  • Provide patient services such as smoking cessation guidance, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management
  • Educate patients on proper use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
  • Compound medications for internal and external use, and prepare sterile solutions following protocols
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians, clerks, and other staff to maintain workflow efficiency
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care
  • Identify and communicate drug-related problems to the healthcare team

Qualifications:

  • Valid California pharmacist license (in-hand)
  • Open to retail pharmacists with willingness to train and adapt to new environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient education and team collaboration
  • Attention to detail and commitment to regulatory compliance
