Pharmacist - Cicero, Illinois

This position offers a unique opportunity for a licensed pharmacist to take on a critical role within a fast-paced healthcare environment. Working primarily overnight shifts, this role focuses on ensuring the safe and effective use of medications while collaborating closely with healthcare professionals.

Job Type: Contract (13 weeks +)
Schedule:

• 7 days on, 7 days off
• 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform order verification to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations
• Supervise pharmacy technicians, providing guidance and support
• Consult with physicians and nurses to optimize patient medication therapy
• Apply principles of pharmacokinetics for individualized patient care
• Utilize EPIC and Pyxis systems proficiently for medication management and documentation

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Valid pharmacist license and current credentials
• Experience with overnight hospital or institutional pharmacy practice preferred
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
• Strong communication skills for effective interdisciplinary collaboration
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities during night shifts
