Direct Hire Opportunity – Medication Safety/Compliance Pharmacist

An exceptional opportunity exists for an experienced Medication Safety/Compliance Pharmacist to join a leading pediatric hospital near Fresno, CA. This role offers the chance to work closely with pharmacy leadership to ensure medication safety and regulatory compliance across the pharmacy department and the larger healthcare organization.

Location:

  • Clovis, CA

Schedule/Hours:

  • Monday through Friday, 5 x 8-hour day shifts
  • 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to the Director of Pharmacy; collaborate with leadership including Pharmacy Operations and Clinical Managers
  • Ensure pharmacy practices comply with all medication safety regulations and laws at local, state, and federal levels
  • Continuously evaluate and improve medication management policies, leading evidence-based changes to promote best practices
  • Provide education and training focused on patient safety and regulatory compliance
  • Act as a patient advocate and liaison with medical staff to implement positive safety initiatives
  • Utilize expertise in Medication Error Reporting Programs (MERP) and EMR systems, specifically EPIC
  • Maintain updated knowledge of regulatory standards, including The Joint Commission requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (PharmD)
  • Current California Registered Pharmacist licensure (CA-SBP)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain within 30 days of hire
  • Minimum 5 years of hospital or related pharmacy experience
  • Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Thorough knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Residency from an accredited program
  • Management experience (2+ years)
  • Board of Pharmacy Specialties certification or ASHP/ISMP Medication Safety Certificate
