A travel pharmacist opportunity is available at a small 40-bed hospital in Northern Central Wisconsin. This role requires managing multiple responsibilities within a central inpatient pharmacy in a dynamic hospital setting with an average inpatient census of 30-40 patients across various departments including Med/Surg, OB/GYN, ICU, outpatient oncology, ED, and inpatient/outpatient surgery.

Schedule Options:

  • Four 10-hour shifts per week, days from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with rotating weekends
  • Alternatively, a block schedule of 7 days on and 7 days off (day shifts)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify EPIC medication orders and review technician work to ensure accuracy and patient safety
  • Respond to pharmacist-related inquiries via phone promptly and professionally
  • Dispense inpatient unit dose medications, outpatient chemotherapy, and inpatient and outpatient intravenous medications
  • Collaborate with medical and nursing staff to optimize medication management across diverse clinical areas
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines for pharmacy operations

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Licensed pharmacist with experience in hospital pharmacy settings
  • Proficient in the use of EPIC electronic health record systems
  • Strong multitasking ability to manage concurrent duties efficiently
  • Experience with both inpatient and outpatient pharmacy services, including chemotherapy and IV preparations
  • Ability to adapt to flexible scheduling and maintain high-quality patient care standards
