Pharmacist in Colby, WI

A travel pharmacist opportunity is available at a small 40-bed hospital in Northern Central Wisconsin, offering the chance to work in a diverse setting that includes inpatient and outpatient services. This assignment provides a dynamic role managing multiple pharmacy responsibilities in a central inpatient pharmacy that supports a variety of clinical areas such as Med/Surg, OB/GYN, ICU, outpatient oncology, emergency department, and more.

Location:

• Colby, Wisconsin

Schedule:

• 4x10-hour shifts per week, day shift (7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.), with rotating weekends
• Option for a blocked schedule (7 days on, 7 days off), day shift
• ASAP start
• 13+ week contract duration

Responsibilities:

• Verify EPIC medication orders and check technician work
• Respond to pharmacist phone calls promptly and professionally
• Prepare inpatient and outpatient IV medications, unit dose inpatient meds, and outpatient chemotherapy
• Support a patient census averaging 30-40 inpatients
• Collaborate across clinical departments to ensure optimal medication management and patient safety

Desired Experience:

• Licensed pharmacist with experience in hospital inpatient pharmacy operations
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records system
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks efficiently and accurately
• Experience with intravenous preparations and chemotherapy preferred
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital environment serving diverse patient populations
