A travel opportunity is available for a pharmacist interested in supporting a rural hospital setting in northern Wisconsin. This 75-bed hospital provides a dynamic environment with a range of clinical areas including Med/Surg, ICU, OB/GYN, outpatient oncology, emergency department, and surgery. The assignment begins as soon as possible, spanning at least 13 weeks.
Schedule/Hours:
- Primarily 10-hour day shifts
- Rotating weekends require 8-hour day shifts
Responsibilities include managing multiple responsibilities within the inpatient pharmacy, such as verifying EPIC medication orders, supervising technician work, and responding to pharmacy phone inquiries. The role requires provision of inpatient and outpatient intravenous therapies, inpatient unit dose medications, and outpatient chemotherapy administration. The inpatient census typically ranges between 30 and 40 patients, demanding versatile and efficient workflow management.
Desired Experience:
- Licensed pharmacist with prior inpatient pharmacy experience
- Proficient in EPIC electronic health record system
- Experience with IV medication preparation and chemotherapy handling
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
