This contract role offers an opportunity to apply clinical expertise as a Pharmacist focused on hospital inpatient care. The position involves reviewing and verifying medication orders from physicians and extenders, ensuring that drug choice, dosage, frequency, and administration routes are appropriate for each patient. A key aspect of this role includes evaluating patient allergies, medical history, drug interactions, and lab results to prevent potential clinical conflicts before dispensing medications.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and safe dispensing of medications based on physician orders
  • Monitor and manage medication inventory control
  • Provide drug information and clinical support to healthcare team members
  • Oversee pharmacy students and technicians during medication preparation
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team for discharge planning and continuity of care

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a College of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (required)
  • Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred
  • At least 1 year of hospital-based pharmacy experience or successful completion of Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) in a clinical setting preferred
  • Valid Pennsylvania Pharmacist License (required)
  • Basic Life Support certification preferred
