Pharmacist in Columbia, MD

A full-time pharmacist opportunity is available to provide essential coverage during a pending leave of absence at a well-established health center with multiple in-house pharmacies, including an outpatient site. This contract position starts on June 22 and spans approximately 2 to 3 months. The work schedule follows a Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. shift, with rotating Saturdays.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage pharmacy technicians and oversee daily pharmacy operations in a fast-paced outpatient environment
• Counsel patients to ensure optimal medication use and adherence
• Administer vaccines and immunizations as part of patient care services
• Utilize ScriptPro software (training provided for comfortable use)
• Support compliance with regulations, including 340B program knowledge which is highly preferred
• Ability to communicate with Spanish-speaking patients is a plus but not mandatory

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years recent retail pharmacy experience is required
• Demonstrated capacity to thrive in a high-volume setting while maintaining accuracy and professionalism
• Experience with pharmacy technician oversight and patient counseling
• Familiarity with 340B pharmacy program protocols is a strong advantage
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technology such as ScriptPro
