A growing long-term care pharmacy in Columbus, OH is seeking four dedicated, licensed pharmacists for direct hire positions to support its expanding operations. This closed-door pharmacy specializes in serving long-term care facilities, focusing on safe, accurate medication management and collaboration with healthcare teams.
Available Shifts:
- Three positions: 2nd shift (6:00 PM–2:30 AM), Monday–Friday with every other weekend rotation
- One position: 7-on/7-off schedule, 6:00 PM–4:30 AM, Monday–Sunday rotation
Shift Flexibility: To attract qualified candidates, the client offers alternate 4x10-hour shift options on second shift including:
- 4:00 PM–2:30 AM
- 6:00 PM–4:30 AM
- 8:00 PM–6:30 AM
Or a Monday–Sunday every other week 7-on/7-off schedule with flexible start/end times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and evaluate medication orders for appropriateness, dosage, potential drug interactions, and administration accuracy
- Ensure medicines are properly dispensed, accurately labeled, and safely prepared
- Collaborate closely with nursing staff, physicians, and healthcare team members to address medication-related inquiries
- Make therapy recommendations to physicians and facility staff when necessary
- Investigate and resolve medication-related discrepancies and queries
- Maintain comprehensive patient records including medication history, clinical data, and laboratory results
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current Ohio pharmacist license must be held and active
- Experience in a long-term care pharmacy or similar clinical setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of medication therapies, drug interactions, and clinical pharmacy practices
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Proficiency using pharmacy systems, with Frameworks experience a plus
