Pharmacist in Comfort, TX

A 13-week+ Pharmacist opportunity is available at a 120-bed community hospital near Comfort, TX, serving Kerrville and surrounding areas. This role requires a licensed Texas Pharmacist with hospital experience and offers a dynamic schedule primarily covering weekday day shifts with some weekend responsibilities.

Location:

• Comfort, Texas (serving Kerrville community hospital)

Schedule/Hours:

• Monday to Friday day shifts starting at 7:00 am, 8:00 am, or 9:00 am
• Coverage every 4th weekend
• Potential shift to 2nd shift (11:45 am to 10:15 pm, 10-hour shifts) may occur; flexibility is ideal

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense and manage inpatient medications accurately according to hospital policies
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize pharmaceutical care and patient outcomes
• Utilize hospital IT systems including Meditech for clinical documentation, MedKeeper for IV management, and Omnicell automated dispensing systems
• Maintain compliance with hospital, state, and federal regulations governing pharmacy practice
• Participate in weekend coverage on a rotational basis

Qualifications:

• Active Texas Pharmacist license required
• Prior hospital pharmacy experience strongly preferred
• Proficiency with Meditech or similar hospital IT systems is beneficial
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills within a clinical environment
• Adaptability to evolving shift schedules and weekend coverage
