A pharmacist role is available in Coralville, IA, focused on delivering precise, safe, and efficient pharmaceutical care and drug distribution. This position emphasizes direct and indirect patient care through collaboration with supportive staff to ensure optimal medication therapy outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately interpret physicians’ drug orders and dispense medications accordingly.
  • Review patient medical and pharmaceutical records to monitor drug therapy effectiveness, interactions, adverse reactions, contraindications, allergies, and sensitivities.
  • Administer immunizations and provide patient counseling and education on medication use.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians and nurses regarding patient drug therapy.
  • Prepare, compound, and dispense prescriptions and pharmaceutical products.
  • Oversee prescription processing to maintain quality and adherence to standard practices.
  • Maintain records of controlled substances and document/report medication errors.
  • Assist in managing pharmacy personnel and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Demonstrate commitment to ongoing professional development in clinical pharmacy practice.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited pharmacy program with an active Iowa pharmacist license.
  • Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support and Immunization is required and must be maintained.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to manage sensitive, confidential information responsibly.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with a focus on excellent customer service.
  • Analytical problem-solving abilities and up-to-date knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations.
