A Long Term Care Pharmacist opportunity is available for a licensed professional to support medication management in skilled nursing, personal care, and hospice settings. This contract role offers a dynamic environment focused on ensuring the accuracy and safety of medication dispensing within long-term care facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Review and verify orders entered by data entry technicians for various care facilities.
- Inspect packaged medications, including blister packs, and check both sterile and non-sterile medications.
- Address clinical inquiries and communicate effectively with nursing facility staff, hospice nurses, and physicians.
- Perform controlled substance counts and maintain perpetual inventory records.
- Inspect and restock emergency medication boxes as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
- Current pharmacist license in Pennsylvania, in good standing.
- Minimum of one year of pharmacist experience, with preference for long-term care experience.
- Proficient with QS1, Docutrack, and PCC operating systems.
- Ability to sit, stand, possess fine motor skills and visual acuity necessary for detailed work.
- Capable of lifting up to 30 pounds.
Schedule:
- 40 hours per week.
- Pharmacy hours are Monday through Friday, 8am–6pm; Saturday 8am–4pm; Sunday 8am–3pm.
Assignment Details:
- Initial duration of 1 month with potential extension based on performance and business needs.
- Contract position.
