A licensed Pharmacist is needed in a hospital setting to ensure the accurate preparation and dispensing of medications, while providing expert clinical support to healthcare providers. This direct hire role is based in Cubero, NM, focusing on maintaining high standards in patient drug therapy, operational excellence, and compliance within the pharmacy department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, fill, label, and dispense medications including parenteral and IV solutions with precision and safety.
- Monitor patient drug therapies for efficacy, safety, and appropriateness, offering expert guidance to physicians, nurses, and patients.
- Manage the pharmacy inventory, maintain legal and quality standards for medication supply, and oversee records in compliance with regulations.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff while contributing to formulary management and automated dispensing systems.
- Participate in emergency responses such as Rapid Response Teams and Code Blue situations.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, competency evaluations, and uphold compliance with healthcare regulations and ethical standards.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Graduate from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy; BS in Pharmacy required, PharmD preferred.
- Current and active New Mexico pharmacy license.
- 1-2 years hospital pharmacy experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical rotations considered.
- Strong clinical knowledge of pharmacology and therapeutics.
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
- Proficiency with pharmacy information systems and automated dispensing technology.
- Commitment to patient safety and quality improvement.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform repetitive hand movements, lift up to 40 pounds, and stand or walk for extended periods while operating pharmacy equipment.
