A veterinary compounding pharmacy is seeking a Staff Pharmacist with expertise in equine or veterinary/animal compounding to support their growing team. This temp-to-hire role is an immediate replacement opportunity based in Cullman, AL, offering a chance to contribute to exceptional care for animal patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and support a team of 3–4 pharmacy technicians.
• Verify prescriptions and manage daily pharmacy workflow.
• Review and oversee 25–30 regularly reordered formularies.
• Ensure compliance with pharmacy policies, procedures, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with the pharmacy team to maintain efficient operations.
• Provide leadership with a strong focus on animal patient care.
• Assist with inventory and operational tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

• Active Pharmacist license meeting state requirements.
• Experience specifically in equine pharmacy or veterinary/animal compounding; human compounding alone is not sufficient.
• Strong leadership and supervisory abilities.
• Demonstrated excellent work ethic and willingness to go above and beyond.
• Quick learner adaptable to a fast-paced environment.

Pharmacy Overview:

• Focus on veterinary and equine compounding, primarily non-sterile with some sterile prescriptions.
• Approximately 200+ prescriptions shipped daily.
• Team includes four pharmacists, each supervising 3–4 technicians.
• Uses PK Software for compounding order entry and QuickBooks Online for invoicing; transitioning to Pharmetica in fall.
