This opportunity is for a Retail Staff Pharmacist role supporting a community-focused healthcare facility in Davenport, NE. In this travel assignment, you will play a key role in delivering professional pharmacy services that align with the facility’s mission to provide exceptional patient care.
As a licensed Pharmacist, you’ll apply your expertise to dispense medications accurately, advise medical staff on drug therapy, monitor therapeutic outcomes, and maintain compliance with state and federal regulations. This position reports to the Retail Pharmacy Manager and Director of Pharmacy and is full-time with daytime hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and dispense prescription medications and ensure accuracy and compliance
- Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff regarding drug choices, dosages, and side effects
- Oversee pharmacy support staff and maintain appropriate drug inventory and storage
- Conduct medication reviews and patient education to optimize therapeutic outcomes
- Maintain confidentiality consistent with HIPAA and participate in compliance programs
- Mentor pharmacy and healthcare students through practical and didactic training
- Provide consulting services to contracted long-term care facilities
- Participate in facility meetings and community health committees as requested
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited program; PharmD preferred
- Valid pharmacy license with successful completion of licensure exam
- Minimum of three years retail pharmacist experience is preferred
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Work Environment and Additional Details:
- Indoor, climate-controlled setting with potential exposure to biohazards and hazardous drugs
- Compliance with safety protocols including annual respirator fit testing
