A pharmacy professional is needed for a 13-week contract opportunity based in the Davis Creek area, with day shifts Monday through Friday. Under the guidance of the Retail Pharmacy Manager, this role demands overseeing comprehensive retail pharmaceutical services, including procurement, distribution, storage, and administration of medications, all in strict compliance with State and Federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately compound and dispense medications and pharmaceuticals.
  • Review prescriptions for correctness, ensuring appropriate formulas and ingredients.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff involved in mixing, packaging, and labeling.
  • Provide information and counseling to patients regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosages, and storage.
  • Manage quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and proper disposal of hazardous waste.
  • Maintain pharmacy records, data entry, and inventory control.
  • Train and oversee interns and pharmacy personnel, ensuring compliance with legal ratios.
  • Address third-party prescription claims and resolve rejections efficiently.
  • Foster positive relationships with physicians and healthcare professionals.
  • Uphold safety, security, and sanitation standards within the pharmacy setting.
  • Adapt to change, handle difficult situations professionally, and contribute to service improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed to practice pharmacy in California.
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from an accredited institution.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing retail pharmaceutical services.
  • Ongoing commitment to continuing education for licensure maintenance.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and adept at data management.
