A hospital pharmacist role is available on a 13-week contract in Davis Creek, CA, requiring recent inpatient pharmacy experience within the last three years. Serving under the direction of the Pharmaceutical Services Director, the pharmacist will oversee all aspects of pharmaceutical services within the hospital setting, ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations while supporting optimal patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage procurement, distribution, storage, and administration of medications to ensure safe and effective use.
- Review inpatient medication orders for appropriateness and verify patients’ home medications before use.
- Maintain pharmaceuticals, specialty kits, crash carts, and Omnicell inventory across the facility.
- Monitor compliance with pharmacy policies, accreditation standards, and legal requirements.
- Provide drug information to healthcare professionals and assist with pharmacy licensure issues.
- Serve as Pharmacist in Charge, recommending improvements in pharmaceutical services operations.
- Maintain accurate records for procurement, dispensing, controlled substances, and hazardous waste disposal.
- Provide weekend coverage for retail pharmacy emergency medication dispensing and serve as on-call pharmacist after hours during shifts.
- Perform administrative tasks related to compliance, documentation, and license maintenance.
Desired Qualifications:
- Licensed Pharmacist with active credentials.
- Minimum of 3 years inpatient hospital pharmacy experience within the past three years.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and produce results with minimal supervision.
