A healthcare facility is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist to oversee inpatient pharmacy services at their hospital. This 13-week contract role demands strong expertise in hospital pharmacy practice, with an immediate start date. The selected candidate will ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations while managing the procurement, distribution, storage, and administration of medications within the inpatient setting.
Key responsibilities include reviewing all pharmaceutical operations to promote efficiency, providing drug information to healthcare professionals, maintaining accurate records related to procurement and dispensing, and ensuring quality assurance and regulatory adherence. The Pharmacist in this role will serve as the Pharmacist in Charge, recommend policy improvements, manage pharmacy licensure matters, and maintain various pharmacy inventories, including specialty kits and crash carts.
Location: Davis Creek, CA (Modoc Medical Center)
Contract Duration: 13 weeks, starting ASAP
Schedule: Includes weekend retail pharmacy coverage and on-call responsibilities
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current licensure as a Pharmacist with a valid state license
- Minimum of three years inpatient hospital pharmacy experience within the last three years (required)
- Thorough knowledge of state and federal pharmacy regulations
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities independently
- Excellent communication and professional behavior, both on and off shift
- Experience with pharmacy inventory, drug formularies, and quality assurance procedures
- Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare staff and demonstrate respect to colleagues and management
