A contract pharmacy opportunity is available in Detroit, MI, for a pharmacist with specialized expertise in home infusion and sterile compounding. This role supports a collaborative environment focused on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care within the home infusion setting.
Schedule/Hours:
- Monday through Friday
- 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Duration: 2 months
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with preparation and verification of sterile compounded medications performed by pharmacy technicians within a clean room environment.
- Ensure compliance with USP 797 and USP 800 standards governing sterile compounding and hazardous drug handling.
- Provide clinical consultations to patients receiving home infusion therapies to optimize treatment outcomes and address questions.
- Collaborate closely with the healthcare team to maintain safety and quality standards throughout the medication use process.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Michigan pharmacy license is required.
- Proven experience in home infusion pharmacy practice.
- Strong background in sterile compounding, preferably within a home infusion setting.
- Familiarity with USP 797 and USP 800 sterile compounding standards is essential.
- Experience with the Care Tend pharmacy computer system is a plus but not mandatory.
