Pharmacist - Douglasville, GA

An opportunity is available for a skilled pharmacist to support a hospital pharmacy in Douglasville, GA, on a contract basis. This role offers a unique work schedule of 7 nights on followed by 7 nights off, with shifts running from 9 pm to 7 am, providing a balanced work-life rhythm.

Schedule:

• Night shift: 9:00 pm – 7:00 am
• 7 days on, 7 days off

Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Supervise pharmacy technicians during night shifts
• Apply pharmacokinetic principles for optimal patient therapy
• Consult and collaborate with nursing staff and physicians regarding medication management
• Maintain a high standard of care as the sole pharmacist present alongside a pharmacy technician during the shift
• Utilize EPIC and Pyxis systems effectively for order processing and inventory control

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid Georgia pharmacist license
• Minimum of 1 year inpatient hospital pharmacy experience, preferably recent
• Strong hospital pharmacy foundation suitable for independent night shift work
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records system is preferred
• Ability to manage responsibilities autonomously while ensuring patient safety and regulatory compliance
