A full-time day Pharmacist position is available in the Los Angeles area, offering an opportunity to work across several sister hospitals located within a 10 to 15-mile radius. This contract role is ideal for those seeking a variable schedule with day and afternoon shifts over a 2 to 3-month duration and possibly longer.

Location: Los Angeles area (primary site near Downey, CA) with potential floating to nearby sister hospitals.

Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently.
• Oversee and provide guidance to pharmacy technicians.
• Collaborate and consult with nursing staff and physicians to ensure optimal patient care.
• Apply pharmacokinetic principles in patient medication management.
• Utilize Allscripts/Paragon for order entry and manage medication dispensing through Pyxis automated cabinets.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active pharmacist license must be current and in good standing.
• Experience with hospital pharmacy settings, preferably in acute care.
• Proficient in the use of Allscripts/Paragon and Pyxis systems.
• Strong clinical knowledge in pharmacokinetics and medication therapy management.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Flexibility and willingness to float between nearby hospital locations as needed.

This role supports a licensed bed capacity of 117, with an average daily census of 44 patients, providing a dynamic environment to impact patient care positively.
