An opportunity for a Pharmacist with expertise in controlled substances is available in a growing closed-door Long Term Care pharmacy site. This direct hire position is based in Columbus, OH, offering a chance to contribute to specialized patient care within a well-established facility.
Location: Columbus, OH
Shift Hours: 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM, Monday through Friday, every other weekend

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage controlled drugs (narcotics) with strict adherence to regulations.
- Review medication orders for appropriateness regarding drug choice, dosage, interactions, and administration.
- Recommend therapy modifications to physicians and client facility staff when necessary.
- Maintain comprehensive customer databases including medical history, clinical, and laboratory data.
- Investigate and resolve medication-related queries efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, and the healthcare team about medication concerns.
- Supervise accurate preparation and dispensing of medications.
- Maintain registers for controlled substances for legal compliance and stock control.
- Ensure medication security protocols are rigorously followed.
- Perform on-call duties as required.
- Utilize Frameworks software for pharmacy operations.
Qualifications:
- Valid Ohio Pharmacist license (must be in-hand).
- Experience handling controlled substances within a pharmacy setting.
- Strong knowledge of medication therapy evaluation and clinical pharmacy practices.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to regulatory compliance and patient safety.
