Per Diem Pharmacist in Durham, NC

A per diem pharmacist position is available in a home infusion environment located in Durham, NC, covering the period from July 29 through August 5. This opportunity requires expertise in sterile compounding and patient-focused pharmaceutical services, utilizing CPR+ software.

Schedule/Hours:

• 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Monday through Friday

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in verifying pharmaceutical products and drugs entering the clean room for sterile compounding, ensuring accurate lot numbers on batch records.
• Provide final checks of compounded sterile products (CSP), including label accuracy, fill amounts, and drug verification.
• Inspect final shipments going out to patients to confirm medical supplies on delivery tickets are complete.
• Communicate effectively with physicians’ offices, field nurses, and patients about drug regimens, inventory, adverse drug reactions, and abnormal lab results.
• Call patients to coordinate upcoming medication and supply deliveries, monitor inventory, and assess drug use compliance; report concerns to management.
• Handle inbound communications from medical offices, nursing agencies, and patients professionally.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required; Doctor of Pharmacy or Master's degree preferred.
• Active pharmacist license in North Carolina.
• Minimum of two years recent acute-care experience or one year recent home infusion therapy experience.
• Solid understanding of intravenous admixture services and intravenous therapy.
• Proficiency with CPR+ software is mandatory.
