Pharmacist in Eau Claire, WI

A travel pharmacist opportunity is available at a 25-bed critical access hospital in Wisconsin. This role focuses on providing pharmacy support across multiple departments, including the emergency room, labor and delivery, and medical-surgical units, with minimal oncology involvement. The facility utilizes Cerner for electronic medical records (EMR) and Pyxis systems for medication dispensing, serving approximately 10 to 12 patients daily through the automated dispensing cabinet (ADC).

Schedule and Hours:

• Rotating schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off
• Monday to Friday: 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM
• Saturday and Sunday: 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense medications accurately and efficiently in alignment with hospital policies.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams in ER, L&D, and med-surg units to optimize patient care.
• Maintain compliance with FDA and state pharmacy regulations.
• Utilize Cerner EMR and Pyxis systems for documentation and medication management.
• Provide clinical consultation and support to nursing staff.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Licensed pharmacist eligible to practice in Wisconsin.
• Experience working in hospital or acute care settings preferred.
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR and Pyxis medication dispensing systems is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy practice including medication safety standards.
• Ability to work independently during scheduled rotations.
