Responsibilities:
- Review and verify prescriptions from physicians and authorized prescribers for accuracy and appropriateness
- Determine formulas and ingredients required for compounding medications
- Compound sterile and non-sterile medications, ensuring adherence to standard formulas and protocols, including weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients accurately
- Oversee pharmacy staff involved in medication mixing, packaging, and labeling processes
- Dispense medications accurately and provide counseling to nursing facility staff regarding prescription and over-the-counter medications
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards in all pharmacy operations
Desired Experience:
- Licensed pharmacist with experience in long-term care pharmacy settings
- Proficiency in compounding sterile and non-sterile medications
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations and medication management
- Ability to supervise pharmacy staff and coordinate workflow
