A pharmacy opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist to support patient care on a 4-week contract in the El Cajon, CA area. This role involves a 2nd shift schedule from 2:30 PM to 11 PM with rotating weekends, providing an excellent chance to contribute your skills in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and monitor patient medication compliance.
- Advise patients on medication usage, side effects, storage, and answer related questions.
- Provide patient services including smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
- Educate patients on the use and care of medical devices such as glucose meters and blood pressure monitors.
- Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following established protocols.
- Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain lawful supply levels and proper inventory management of pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals including physicians and nurses to identify and resolve drug-related issues.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with regulations.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Active California pharmacist license.
- Willingness to train retail pharmacists; prior retail experience welcomed but not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills to educate and collaborate with patients and healthcare teams.
- Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety and regulatory compliance.
