This opportunity calls for a licensed pharmacist to manage medication dispensing and patient care in a fast-paced pharmacy setting. The role involves ensuring compliance with legal standards, monitoring patient medication usage, and providing expert consultation on prescription and non-prescription drugs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications.
- Monitor patient medication compliance and identify potential over-usage.
- Ensure proper medicine supply management in line with legal requirements.
- Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files with precision.
- Provide patient counseling on medication usage, side effects, and interactions.
- Offer additional health services such as smoking cessation support and blood pressure monitoring.
- Educate patients on the correct use of medical devices including glucose meters.
- Compound medications as required, preparing sterile solutions according to protocol.
- Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks.
- Manage inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies effectively.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify and resolve drug-related issues.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid California pharmacist license in hand.
- Retail pharmacy experience is welcomed; training is available for those new to retail.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare teams.
- Ability to supervise and mentor pharmacy support staff.
Location:
- Position is based in El Cajon, CA.
Shift and Schedule:
- 2nd shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
- Rotating weekends
- Contract duration: 4 weeks, starting ASAP
