This opportunity calls for a licensed pharmacist to manage medication dispensing and patient care in a fast-paced pharmacy setting. The role involves ensuring compliance with legal standards, monitoring patient medication usage, and providing expert consultation on prescription and non-prescription drugs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications.
  • Monitor patient medication compliance and identify potential over-usage.
  • Ensure proper medicine supply management in line with legal requirements.
  • Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files with precision.
  • Provide patient counseling on medication usage, side effects, and interactions.
  • Offer additional health services such as smoking cessation support and blood pressure monitoring.
  • Educate patients on the correct use of medical devices including glucose meters.
  • Compound medications as required, preparing sterile solutions according to protocol.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks.
  • Manage inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies effectively.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify and resolve drug-related issues.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid California pharmacist license in hand.
  • Retail pharmacy experience is welcomed; training is available for those new to retail.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to supervise and mentor pharmacy support staff.

Location:

  • Position is based in El Cajon, CA.

Shift and Schedule:

  • 2nd shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
  • Rotating weekends
  • Contract duration: 4 weeks, starting ASAP
