A pharmacy opportunity is available for a Pharmacist on a 4-week contract in El Cajon, CA. This role requires a licensed California Pharmacist to work primarily the 2nd shift from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, including rotating weekends. Responsibilities:
- Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately.
- Monitor patient medication compliance and detect over-usage patterns.
- Ensure pharmaceutical supplies comply with legal regulations.
- Verify appropriateness of prescribed medications for patients.
- Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files with accuracy.
- Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, and answer related questions.
- Provide consultations on prescription and non-prescription drugs, including storage, dosage, side effects, and interactions.
- Deliver patient services such as smoking cessation, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management.
- Educate patients on correct usage of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
- Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following proper protocols.
- Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks.
- Maintain inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
- Identify drug-related problems and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, interns, and other pharmacists.
Qualifications:
- Active California Pharmacist license.
- Retail pharmacy experience is acceptable; training will be provided.
- Ability to work a rotating weekend schedule and the 2nd shift hours.
