An urgent opening is available for pharmacists interested in a per diem position serving multiple locations in the Northern California Bay Area. This role requires professionals who are flexible and available to provide on-demand pharmacy coverage, primarily within retail settings.
Location: Elk Grove, CA (with travel throughout the Bay Area/Northern California)
Schedule/Hours:
- Per diem, as needed
- Typically 1-2 shifts per week on average
- Must be willing to commute locally; mileage reimbursement available for travel over 30 miles one way
Responsibilities:
- Provide pharmacy services at retail locations, including managing prescriptions and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations
- Open and close pharmacy sites efficiently and securely
- Supervise and collaborate with pharmacy technicians to ensure smooth daily operations
- Utilize pharmacy software systems such as McKesson’s Enterprise (ERx) and Rx30 for accurate dispensing and recordkeeping
- Deliver exceptional patient care by answering medication-related questions and addressing concerns
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active pharmacist license
- Minimum of 1 year retail pharmacy experience
- Experience with opening and closing pharmacies
- Proven ability to manage pharmacy technicians effectively
- Comfortable with McKesson’s Enterprise (ERx) and/or Rx30 software platforms preferred
- Reliable transportation and willingness to commute to different sites in the region
