Per Diem Pharmacist | Elk Grove, California

An urgent opening is available for pharmacists interested in a per diem position serving multiple locations in the Northern California Bay Area. This role requires professionals who are flexible and available to provide on-demand pharmacy coverage, primarily within retail settings.

Location: Elk Grove, CA (with travel throughout the Bay Area/Northern California)

Schedule/Hours:

• Per diem, as needed
• Typically 1-2 shifts per week on average
• Must be willing to commute locally; mileage reimbursement available for travel over 30 miles one way

Responsibilities:

• Provide pharmacy services at retail locations, including managing prescriptions and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations
• Open and close pharmacy sites efficiently and securely
• Supervise and collaborate with pharmacy technicians to ensure smooth daily operations
• Utilize pharmacy software systems such as McKesson’s Enterprise (ERx) and Rx30 for accurate dispensing and recordkeeping
• Deliver exceptional patient care by answering medication-related questions and addressing concerns

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active pharmacist license
• Minimum of 1 year retail pharmacy experience
• Experience with opening and closing pharmacies
• Proven ability to manage pharmacy technicians effectively
• Comfortable with McKesson’s Enterprise (ERx) and/or Rx30 software platforms preferred
• Reliable transportation and willingness to commute to different sites in the region
