Pharmacist in Elk Grove, CA

A pharmacy professional opportunity is available in the Sacramento, CA area, offering the chance to work in a well-established healthcare setting with 125 licensed beds and an average daily census of 120 patients. This contract position requires prompt availability and offers the possibility of a flexible 4-5 day workweek.

Location: Sacramento, CA
Shift Hours:

• Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (with occasional shifts from 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM)
• Weekend coverage may be required, 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM
• On-call duties are expected unless staffing gaps already cover these needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily pharmacy staffing and operations
• Utilize the HCS order entry system, with training provided upon hire
• Collaborate with a team consisting of 2 pharmacy technicians and 3 PRN pharmacists
• Ensure accurate and timely medication order processing during technician support hours from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday
• Maintain pharmacy workflows in a setting currently without site automation

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Valid pharmacist license to practice in California
• Familiarity with pharmacy order entry systems (training for HCS will be provided)
• Ability to work effectively within a team and handle varying shift times
• Prefer candidates local to the Sacramento/Elk Grove area; however, travel expenses may be considered for exceptional non-local candidates
