A Specialty Pharmacist opportunity is available in Elmira, NY, supporting a newly established Specialty Pharmacy with a focus on clinical and dispensing responsibilities. This role offers unique experience in specialty pharmacy within a collaborative environment involving oncology providers and various pharmacy support teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform clinical and dispensing duties for specialty medications, primarily within oncology.
- Collaborate closely with oncology providers, clinical and pharmacy staff, prior authorization and financial assistance teams, and transportation coordinators.
- Manage an average prescription volume of approximately 50 specialty Rxs per month.
- Ensure accurate documentation and maintain compliance with pharmacy regulations and standards.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- New York State pharmacist license in good standing.
- Proven experience working in a specialty pharmacy setting preferred.
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system is required.
- Oncology pharmacy experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Exposure to oral oncology medications is a plus.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Additional Details:
- Contract role starting as soon as possible.
- Initial assignment duration of at least 8 weeks with potential for extension or temp-to-hire consideration.
- Flexible travel arrangements may be required to support this assignment.
