Ideal for a licensed pharmacist with at least one year of hospital experience, this contract position provides the chance to contribute to patient care by managing standard hospital pharmacy orders and verifying medications accurately.
Location: Ester, Alaska
Schedule/Hours:
- 8-hour shifts with start times ranging from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM
- Variable days including weekends
- Holiday shifts as needed, typically shorter (4-5 hours)
- Typically, an 11 AM shift will not be followed by a 7 AM shift
Responsibilities:
- Accurately review and verify hospital pharmacy orders following established protocols
- Dispense medications safely and efficiently in accordance with hospital guidelines
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations, including proper documentation
- Support hospital pharmacy operations during variable shifts, including holidays
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a pharmacist in a hospital environment
- Familiarity with standard hospital pharmacy order processing and medication verification
- Preferred experience with Cerner pharmacy systems
- Active Alaska pharmacist license required or eligibility to obtain a temporary license with application within 24 hours of offer acceptance
