An opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist to contribute pharmaceutical expertise within a closed-door mail order setting. This position offers a temp-to-hire arrangement lasting 13 weeks, working primarily Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional Saturdays as needed. Located in Fishers, IN, the role demands meticulous attention to detail and strong communication skills to thrive in a dynamic environment focused on exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately dispense medications based on prescription orders while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy laws.
- Provide comprehensive medication counseling to patients regarding proper use, side effects, and interactions.
- Review and interpret physician orders to confirm therapy appropriateness and safety.
- Monitor drug regimens for contraindications, interactions, and duplications to optimize patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to enhance medication adherence and overall patient health.
- Maintain precise patient records, including medication histories and documented interventions.
- Manage proper medication storage and monitor inventory for expired or damaged products.
- Participate in quality assurance programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with pharmacy inventory management including ordering and stocking supplies.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
- Stay informed on current pharmacy practices through ongoing professional development.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- PharmD degree required.
- Indiana Pharmacy License mandatory.
- California Pharmacy License preferred or willingness to reciprocate (cost assistance provided).
- 1 to 3 years of retail pharmacy experience.
- Up to 5% travel flexibility.
