Provide expert pharmaceutical care in a dynamic, closed-door mail order environment as a Staff Pharmacist on the 2nd shift (12:30 pm – 9:00 pm), Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays as needed. This 13-week temp-to-hire opportunity offers a chance to work collaboratively with healthcare teams to ensure patient safety and optimal medication use.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately dispense medications in accordance with prescription orders.
- Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, and drug interactions.
- Review and interpret physician orders, ensuring appropriateness of therapy.
- Monitor drug regimens for contraindications, interactions, and duplications.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to enhance patient outcomes.
- Maintain thorough and accurate patient medication records.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Manage medication storage, including monitoring expiration and product integrity.
- Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with inventory control, including ordering and stocking supplies.
- Deliver excellent customer service and address inquiries or concerns.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with pharmacy practices.
Qualifications:
- PharmD degree required.
- Indiana Pharmacy License mandatory.
- California Pharmacy License preferred; candidates willing to reciprocate will receive assistance with costs.
- 1 to 3 years of retail pharmacy experience.
- Strong communication skills and keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
- Willingness to travel up to 5%.
