This pharmacy role offers the opportunity to provide exceptional pharmaceutical care within a closed-door mail order environment. The position is part-time, covering 1st or 2nd shifts from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Friday, with possible Saturdays based on business needs. This assignment is temp-to-hire with an initial duration of approximately 13 weeks.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately dispense medications per prescription orders
- Counsel patients on proper medication use, potential side effects, and drug interactions
- Review and interpret physician orders to ensure accurate, appropriate therapy
- Monitor drug regimens for contraindications, interactions, and duplications
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain precise patient records, including medication history and interventions
- Ensure compliance with all applicable pharmacy laws and regulations
- Manage proper storage and handling of pharmaceuticals, including monitoring expiration
- Assist with inventory management and supply ordering
- Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives
- Deliver excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues
- Stay informed about developments in pharmacy practice through ongoing professional development
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- PharmD degree required
- Indiana Pharmacy License mandatory
- California Pharmacy License preferred, or willingness to reciprocate (support provided)
- 1 to 3 years of retail pharmacy experience required
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to travel up to 5%
