We are seeking an Interim Pharmacist for a community hospital in Forrest City, Arkansas. This is an excellent opportunity for a pharmacist looking for a flexible part-time schedule while supporting a small acute care hospital pharmacy team.

The assignment is expected to begin ASAP and continue for at least two months while the facility recruits for a permanent pharmacist.

Position Details

Flexible Schedule (coordinated with Director of Pharmacy)
No Weekend Coverage Required
No On-Call Responsibilities

Schedule

Monday – Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Coverage Days Flexible

Pharmacy Environment

Acute Care Hospital
Service Areas Include:
Medical-Surgical
Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Women's Health
Pharmacy Staff:
1 Full-Time Pharmacist
1 Pharmacy Technician
Order Entry System: Medhost (training provided)
Automation: Pyxis ES (experience not required)

Responsibilities

Verify medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness
Perform IV compounding and sterile preparation duties
Provide oversight and support to pharmacy technicians
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
Ensure compliance with hospital policies and pharmacy regulations
Support medication safety and quality assurance initiatives
Assist with daily pharmacy operations and workflow management
Provide clinical pharmacy support as needed

Technician Support Includes

Pyxis refills
Removal of expired medications
Crash cart checks
Medication area inspections
Unit-dose preparation and distribution

Required Qualifications

Active Arkansas Pharmacist License
Hospital pharmacy experience preferred
IV compounding experience
Strong medication order verification skills
Ability to work independently in a small hospital setting
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Commitment to patient safety and regulatory compliance

Training & Orientation

2–3 Days of Onsite Training/Orientation
