This role is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Manager / Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead pharmacy operations within a specialty pharmacy setting. The position requires an active Massachusetts pharmacist license and offers an immediate start with a contract-to-hire arrangement. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with an on-call rotation on weekends.

Location: Onsite – Foxborough, MA

Contract Duration: 13 weeks with possible extension up to 26 weeks

Schedule:

  • Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Weekend on-call rotation

Qualifications & Desired Experience

  • Active Massachusetts Pharmacist License (required)
  • Connecticut Pharmacist License preferred or willingness to obtain quickly
  • Bachelor of Science or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in specialty, infusion, hospital, or comparable pharmacy settings
  • Background in specialty, infusion, or compounding pharmacy required; retail-only experience not acceptable
  • Strong understanding of specialty therapies and patient qualification processes
  • Experience supervising or working closely with pharmacy technicians
  • Familiarity with specialty pharmacy operations, payer requirements, clinical coordination, and software such as CareTend preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee prescription review, verification, dispensing, and ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies (State Board, FDA, DEA, URAC, ACHC)
  • Provide patient counseling and manage medication therapy for specialty disease states
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and interns, promoting a collaborative team environment
  • Work closely with intake, referral, nursing, and clinical teams to ensure seamless prescription fulfillment and patient onboarding
  • Maintain pharmacy documentation, quality assurance, and assist with incident resolution
  • Participate actively in weekend on-call rotation as assigned
