An experienced Pharmacy Manager / PIC position is available for an immediate start at a specialty pharmacy located in Foxboro, MA. This role is vital in overseeing pharmacy operations, maintaining compliance, and supporting patient-centered care within a specialty pharmacy setting. The position is contract to hire, initially for 13 weeks with the possibility of extending to 26 weeks.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Weekend on-call rotation

Location:

  • Onsite in Foxboro, MA

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee prescription review, verification, and dispensing while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards including State Board of Pharmacy, FDA, DEA, URAC, and ACHC requirements
  • Provide patient counseling and manage medication therapy for specialty disease states
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and interns, providing guidance and support
  • Collaborate with Intake, Referral, Nursing/Clinical, Reimbursement, and Pharmacy Operations teams to ensure efficient onboarding and prescription fulfillment
  • Maintain pharmacy documentation, quality assurance measures, and incident resolution processes
  • Manage accurate operational workflows and pharmacy record-keeping
  • Participate in on-call rotation as required

Qualifications:

  • Active Massachusetts Pharmacist License (required); Connecticut license preferred or willingness to obtain promptly
  • Bachelor of Science or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy
  • Background in specialty, infusion, or compounding pharmacy; retail-only experience is not accepted
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in specialty, infusion, hospital, or related pharmacy settings preferred
  • Knowledge of specialty therapies, patient qualification processes, and payer requirements
  • Experience supervising or collaborating closely with pharmacy technicians
  • Familiarity with CareTend is a plus
  • Strong clinical judgment, leadership, communication, and multitasking skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and pharmacy software
  • Ability to work onsite and manage multiple priorities effectively
