A dynamic opportunity is available for a Pharmacist to support a mail order renal specialty pharmacy known for handling approximately 1,000 prescriptions daily. This role involves key responsibilities in ensuring the accuracy and safety of dispensed medications through thorough verification processes.
Location: Franklin, TN
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM
Duration: 13+ week contract, with potential to convert to permanent
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Start Date: Immediate availability preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Pharmacist Verification 1 (PV1) and Pharmacist Verification 2 (PV2) duties, which include final verification of prescriptions to confirm medication accuracy.
- Verify that the medication in the bottle or box matches the prescription exactly.
- Ensure all prescription directions and information align perfectly with the hard copy prescription.
- Maintain adherence to all safety and quality protocols required in a specialty pharmacy environment.
- Utilize the Wellsky pharmacy order entry system to process prescriptions accurately.
- Collaborate with the pharmacy team to support seamless operations without on-call obligations.
Desired Qualifications:
- Licensed Pharmacist with valid pharmacy credentials.
- Experience with mail order or specialty pharmacy settings preferred.
- Proficient with pharmacy order entry systems, ideally Wellsky or similar platforms.
- Detail-oriented with strong verification skills to ensure patient safety and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to maintain focus during extended shifts and manage high prescription volumes.
