Pharmacist in Fredericksburg, VA

An opportunity is available for a Pharmacist specializing in outpatient infusion services at a cancer center in Fredericksburg, VA. This role supports a busy acute care hospital with 380 staffed beds and an average daily census of 350 patients, including care for oncology patients utilizing 44 infusion chairs.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing comprehensive pharmacy services in outpatient infusion, focusing on chemotherapy and oncology medications
• Collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure safe and effective medication therapy
• Utilizing EPIC and Pyxis systems for medication order processing, verification, and inventory management
• Maintaining compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
• Supporting the outpatient pharmacy team in daily operations alongside 2-3 pharmacists and 3 technicians

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Valid Virginia Pharmacist license required
• Previous experience in infusion pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, or chemotherapy preferred
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems, particularly EPIC, and automated dispensing cabinets such as Pyxis
• Strong attention to detail and clinical knowledge in oncology medication management

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, with shifts from either 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• No weekend or on-call coverage required
