Pharmacist in Fredericksburg, VA

An opportunity is available for a Pharmacist to support an outpatient infusion service at a cancer center in Fredericksburg, VA. This contract role offers the potential to convert to permanent employment. The position plays a critical role within an acute care hospital setting, delivering specialized pharmacy care in a fast-paced oncology infusion environment.

Location:

• Fredericksburg, VA

Work Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Shift options: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Pharmacy operational hours are 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM
• No weekend or on-call coverage required

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and verify chemotherapy and other infusion medications in accordance with established protocols
• Collaborate closely with oncology clinical teams to ensure safe and effective medication management
• Monitor medication therapies and provide patient-centered counseling as appropriate
• Utilize EPIC and Pyxis systems to manage medication orders and inventory controls
• Support efficient operation of the outpatient infusion pharmacy staffed with pharmacists and technicians

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current Virginia Pharmacist license
• Experience in infusion pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, or chemotherapy preferred
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
