DIRECT HIRE OPPORTUNITY: Medication Safety/Compliance Pharmacist – Pediatric Hospital Setting

Location: Fresno, CA
Schedule: Full-time, Day Shift, 5x8-hour shifts (40 hours/week)
Start: ASAP

This direct hire position offers an exciting role dedicated to ensuring medication safety and regulatory compliance within a pediatric hospital environment. Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy, you will collaborate closely with pharmacy leadership and multidisciplinary teams to uphold best practices and optimize medication management processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and ensure compliance with medication safety protocols and regulatory laws across pharmacy departments.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve pharmacy practices based on evidence, literature, and internal data.
  • Lead updates to policies and procedures supporting medication management and staff support.
  • Facilitate education and training programs focused on patient safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a patient advocate by promoting medication error reduction and safety initiatives.
  • Collaborate with medical staff and other hospital disciplines to implement positive safety changes.
  • Utilize EPIC EMR system; experience with MERP (Medication Error Reporting Program) is highly preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (required).
  • Accredited residency program (preferred).
  • California pharmacist license (RPH) in good standing.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association to be completed within 30 days of hire.
  • Additional certifications in medication safety (e.g., Board of Pharmacy Specialties or ASHP/ISMP) are a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years hospital or related pharmacy experience; 2 years management experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations including The Joint Commission standards.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals and lead process improvements.
