DIRECT HIRE OPPORTUNITY: Medication Safety/Compliance Pharmacist – Pediatric Hospital Setting

This direct hire position offers an exciting role dedicated to ensuring medication safety and regulatory compliance within a pediatric hospital environment. Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy, you will collaborate closely with pharmacy leadership and multidisciplinary teams to uphold best practices and optimize medication management processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and ensure compliance with medication safety protocols and regulatory laws across pharmacy departments.
- Continuously evaluate and improve pharmacy practices based on evidence, literature, and internal data.
- Lead updates to policies and procedures supporting medication management and staff support.
- Facilitate education and training programs focused on patient safety and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as a patient advocate by promoting medication error reduction and safety initiatives.
- Collaborate with medical staff and other hospital disciplines to implement positive safety changes.
- Utilize EPIC EMR system; experience with MERP (Medication Error Reporting Program) is highly preferred.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (required).
- Accredited residency program (preferred).
- California pharmacist license (RPH) in good standing.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association to be completed within 30 days of hire.
- Additional certifications in medication safety (e.g., Board of Pharmacy Specialties or ASHP/ISMP) are a plus.
- Minimum 5 years hospital or related pharmacy experience; 2 years management experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations including The Joint Commission standards.
- Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals and lead process improvements.
