An established pediatric hospital near Fresno, CA is seeking a Medication Safety/Compliance Pharmacist for a direct hire opportunity. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the highest standards of medication safety and regulatory compliance within the pharmacy department, with a focus on improving patient outcomes through evidence-based practices.

Responsibilities include collaborating with pharmacy leadership to monitor and evaluate medication management practices, leading change initiatives to promote best practice standards, and updating policies and procedures accordingly. The pharmacist will also assist with education and training on patient safety and regulatory topics and work closely with various hospital disciplines, including medical staff, to drive positive change. Serving as a patient advocate, this role requires thorough knowledge of medication error reporting and experience utilizing EMR systems such as EPIC.

Key Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree (required)
  • Completion of an accredited residency program (preferred)
  • Registered Pharmacist license with the California State Board of Pharmacy (required)
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (to be obtained within 30 days of hire)
  • Specialty certification in medication safety or board certification preferred
  • Minimum five years of hospital or related pharmacy experience (required)
  • At least two years in a management role (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations and compliance standards
  • Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to develop and implement pharmaceutical care processes collaboratively

Schedule:

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Dayshift, five 8-hour shifts
