DIRECT HIRE OPPORTUNITY – Medication Safety/Compliance Pharmacist
Located just outside Fresno, CA, this direct hire role offers the chance to contribute to a leading pediatric hospital known for its commitment to excellence in patient care.
Position Overview: Reporting directly to the Director of Pharmacy, you will partner with pharmacy leadership and multidisciplinary teams to ensure medication safety and regulatory compliance across pharmacy operations. This role plays a critical part in evaluating current practices, leading evidence-based improvements, and updating policies and procedures to support staff and enhance patient safety. You will also provide education and training on safety and regulatory topics, serving as a strong advocate for patients throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure pharmacy operations comply with all relevant medication management regulations and safety standards.
- Monitor and evaluate pharmacy practices to maintain optimal patient safety and regulatory compliance.
- Lead change initiatives based on current evidence or institutional data to promote best practices.
- Collaborate with hospital staff, including medical teams, to support regulatory compliance and improve patient outcomes.
- Assist in education and training regarding patient safety and medication error prevention.
- Utilize experience with Medication Error Reporting Programs and EMR systems (EPIC) effectively.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required.
- Licensed Pharmacist in California (RPH) with California State Board of Pharmacy registration.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
- Preferred: Accredited residency program, management experience (2+ years), and certification in medication safety (ASHP/ISMP or Board of Pharmacy Specialties).
- At least five years of hospital or related pharmacy experience.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and accreditation standards (including The Joint Commission).
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to work collaboratively.

- Days
- 40 hours per week (five 8-hour shifts)
