A full-time Pharmacist position is available at a community hospital’s oncology department located in Grand Junction, CO. This direct hire role offers the opportunity to provide vital clinical and operational pharmacy support in an in-person setting while collaborating closely with healthcare providers to enhance patient care in an oncology environment.
Location:
- Grand Valley Oncology, Grand Junction, CO
- Must relocate to Grand Junction (81505) prior to start
Responsibilities:
- Review and verify provider medication orders for accuracy, appropriateness, and potential drug interactions
- Prepare, compound, and dispense medications including oral, IV, topical, and enteral formulations in compliance with protocols and regulations
- Monitor patient therapy for safety and effectiveness, collaborating with providers on necessary treatment adjustments
- Provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients, including counseling on medication use and adherence
- Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and staff to ensure smooth operations
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure regulatory compliance, including USP standards
- Manage medication inventory, tracking shortages or recalls
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical programs
- Serve as acting Pharmacy Director when needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred with at least one year of related experience or equivalent education and experience
- Current, unrestricted Colorado Pharmacist license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) certifications
