A dynamic opportunity is available for a licensed Pharmacist to provide expert pharmaceutical care in a healthcare setting with 173 licensed beds and an average daily census of 140 patients. This contract position offers variable day and afternoon shifts, initially booking for 8 weeks with the potential for month-to-month extensions.

Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently
• Oversee and support pharmacy technicians in their tasks
• Collaborate with nurses and physicians to optimize patient medication therapies
• Apply expertise in pharmacokinetics to enhance patient outcomes
• Utilize the Allscripts/Paragon order entry system for medication management
• Manage medications through Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets

Desired Experience:

• Current pharmacist license in good standing
• Proficiency with Allscripts/Paragon or similar pharmacy order entry systems
• Experience working with automated dispensing systems such as Pyxis
• Strong communication skills to effectively consult with healthcare professionals
• Ability to supervise pharmacy technicians and manage workflow in a fast-paced environment
