A Long Term Care Pharmacist is needed for a contract position based in Gibsonia, PA. This opportunity offers a 1-month initial assignment with the possibility of extension, allowing you to make a meaningful impact in the care of patients within skilled nursing, personal care, and hospice facilities.
Schedule:
- 40 hours per week
- Pharmacy hours: Monday to Friday, 8am – 6pm
- Saturday 8am – 4pm, Sunday 8am – 3pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and verify medication orders entered by data entry technicians for long term care settings
- Check blister-packed medications, including sterile and non-sterile preparations
- Respond to clinical inquiries via phone from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians
- Accurately count and document controlled substances in the perpetual inventory system
- Inspect and verify emergency medication boxes to ensure compliance and safety
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution
- Active and valid pharmacist license in Pennsylvania, in good standing
- Minimum of 1 year pharmacist experience; Long Term Care experience preferred
- Proficient with pharmacy operating systems such as QS1, Docutrack, and PCC
- Physical ability to sit and stand for extended periods, possess fine motor skills, visual acuity, and lift up to 30 pounds
