Pharmacist - Gibsonia, Pennsylvania

A pharmacy role is available for a registered pharmacist to provide expert medication management and support within a healthcare setting. This position offers a 3-month contract to hire opportunity, providing exposure to diverse pharmacy operations including long-term care and hospice environments.

Schedule/Hours:

• 40 hours per week
• Monday through Friday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Saturday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Sunday: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Location: Gibsonia, PA

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders entered by data entry technicians for skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice patients
• Review blister-packed medications and check both sterile and non-sterile medication preparations for accuracy and compliance
• Respond to phone inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, providing clinical guidance as needed
• Count and document controlled substances in the perpetual inventory log
• Inspect and restock emergency medication boxes regularly to ensure readiness
• Utilize pharmacy operating systems including QS1, Docutrack, and PCC to manage records and workflow efficiently

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
• Active pharmacist license in Pennsylvania in good standing
• Minimum of 1 year pharmacy experience, preferably in long-term care settings
• Physical ability to sit and stand for extended periods, maintain fine motor skills, have good visual acuity, and lift up to 30 pounds
