Per Diem Retail Pharmacist in Gilbert, AZ

This per diem opportunity seeks experienced retail pharmacists to provide coverage across multiple pharmacy locations in the greater Phoenix area. The client operates food and pharmacy stores with a focus on maintaining consistent, high-quality service during graduation, summer vacation, and holiday seasons. The goal is to build a reliable team of 2-3 pharmacists who are ready to address call-outs, vacations, and volume fluctuations.

Location:

• Gilbert, AZ and surrounding greater Phoenix area

Schedule:

• Pharmacy hours generally Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., with some locations closing at 8 p.m.
• Per diem shifts with no guaranteed hours; ideal candidates work 2-4 days per week.

Responsibilities:

• Provide retail pharmacy services including dispensing and patient care within a high-volume setting (average 100-125 prescriptions per day).
• Complete one 8-hour training shift with additional sessions available to ensure readiness across locations.
• Work within QS1 pharmacy software.
• Support immunization administration as licensed and maintain current BLS certification.
• Adapt to varied pharmacy environments, including locations staffed only by pharmacists.

Qualifications:

• 1-2 years minimum experience in retail pharmacy; preference given to those with 5+ years.
• Licensed pharmacist in good standing in Arizona with no restrictions.
• Immunization privilege and active BLS card required.
• Familiarity with QS1 pharmacy system preferred.

Additional Details:

• Mileage reimbursed for commutes over 30 miles; additional travel expenses covered for distances exceeding 75 miles.
• Meal stipend provided for shifts worked.
• Training hours for new QS1 users include a 4-hour non-billable period.
