Pharmacist in Gilmer, TX

This opportunity seeks experienced pharmacists to support a well-established 300+ bed hospital and Level III trauma center. The role offers a dynamic clinical environment where you will contribute directly to patient care through critical pharmacy services.

Location: Gilmer, TX
Position Type: Contract (13 weeks +, possible Travel to Hire)
Schedule:

• Four 10-hour day shifts per week
• Potential for a blocked schedule option (e.g., 8 days on, 6 days off)

Key Responsibilities:

• Order and verify medication dispensing accurately and efficiently
• Oversee and supervise pharmacy technicians to ensure operational excellence
• Collaborate closely with physicians and nurses to optimize therapeutic regimens
• Apply expertise in pharmacokinetics for precise dosing adjustments
• Provide clinical consultations, including neonatal medication considerations and emergency medicine support
• Utilize EPIC and Pyxis systems for documentation and inventory management

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current pharmacist license valid in Texas
• Minimum of 1 year inpatient or clinical pharmacy experience preferred
• Strong familiarity with EPIC electronic health records highly advantageous
• Knowledge of pharmacokinetic dosing and neonatal medication protocols is a plus
• Experience working within emergency medicine settings enhances candidate profile
