This opportunity seeks experienced pharmacists to support a well-established 300+ bed hospital and Level III trauma center. The role offers a dynamic clinical environment where you will contribute directly to patient care through critical pharmacy services.
Location: Gilmer, TX
Position Type: Contract (13 weeks +, possible Travel to Hire)
Schedule:
- Four 10-hour day shifts per week
- Potential for a blocked schedule option (e.g., 8 days on, 6 days off)
Key Responsibilities:
- Order and verify medication dispensing accurately and efficiently
- Oversee and supervise pharmacy technicians to ensure operational excellence
- Collaborate closely with physicians and nurses to optimize therapeutic regimens
- Apply expertise in pharmacokinetics for precise dosing adjustments
- Provide clinical consultations, including neonatal medication considerations and emergency medicine support
- Utilize EPIC and Pyxis systems for documentation and inventory management
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current pharmacist license valid in Texas
- Minimum of 1 year inpatient or clinical pharmacy experience preferred
- Strong familiarity with EPIC electronic health records highly advantageous
- Knowledge of pharmacokinetic dosing and neonatal medication protocols is a plus
- Experience working within emergency medicine settings enhances candidate profile
