A highly skilled Pharmacist is sought to support a 300+ bed hospital and Level III trauma center located in Longview, TX. This contract position offers the opportunity to provide critical pharmacy services in an advanced inpatient setting, ensuring the safe and effective use of medications in a dynamic clinical environment.
Location:
- Longview, TX
Schedule/Hours:
- 4 ten-hour shifts per week, day shift
- Potential for a blocked schedule (e.g., 8 days on, 6 days off)
Responsibilities:
- Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently
- Supervise pharmacy technicians to optimize workflow
- Consult with physicians and nurses on medication therapies
- Perform pharmacokinetic dosing and clinical interventions
- Support neonatal medication management and emergency medicine needs
- Utilize EPIC and Pyxis systems for medication management and documentation
Qualifications:
- Current Texas Pharmacist license required
- Minimum of 1 year recent inpatient or clinical pharmacy experience
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records strongly preferred
- Experience with pharmacokinetic dosing is highly desirable
- Knowledge of neonatal medication protocols and emergency medicine practices is a plus
