This travel opportunity offers a rewarding role for pharmacists experienced in EMR systems, particularly with Epic, supporting a facility transitioning from Meditech to Epic. The assignment is scheduled to begin on March 17 and runs for approximately 20 weeks, with an expected end date around August 15, 2026, adjusted as needed based on start date.

Working a rotating shift schedule, you will contribute 40 hours per week with start times at 6:30 AM or 8:00 AM Monday through Friday, plus rotating weekends from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM. This role requires an active Colorado Pharmacist license in good standing and familiarity with hospital pharmacy operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and dispense medication orders accurately in line with physician instructions.
  • Manage medication stock in patient care units efficiently.
  • Ensure safe, effective, and cost-conscious medication therapies following protocols.
  • Interpret medication orders and maintain computerized patient medication profiles.
  • Compound and dispense pharmaceuticals, including IV admixtures and chemotherapy agents.
  • Comply with all regulatory requirements for controlled substances.
  • Monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications and interactions.
  • Perform pharmacokinetic drug dosing and review culture and sensitivity data to advise on antibiotic use.
  • Detect and report adverse drug reactions promptly.
  • Promote formulary adherence and suggest therapeutic alternatives when appropriate.
  • Provide clinical consultation and drug information to healthcare providers, patients, and families.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and documentation.
  • Participate in education and training programs for multidisciplinary teams.
  • Serve as a member of the Code Response Team.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Colorado Pharmacist license.
  • Graduate from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a Bachelor of Science degree.
  • Certification in BLS and ACLS through the American Heart Association.
  • Mandatory flu vaccination between October 1 and April 1, with no exemptions granted.
  • Experience with Epic is required; Meditech knowledge is a plus.
