A healthcare facility in Glenwood Springs, CO, is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Manager for its inpatient pharmacy department. This 13-week contract assignment requires a candidate with strong leadership skills and a comprehensive background in pharmacy operations and clinical services. The role involves ensuring safe, appropriate, and cost-effective medication therapies aligned with established protocols.
Responsibilities include developing and enforcing pharmacy policies, maintaining a medical staff approved formulary, supervising medication storage and preparation, and ensuring medication supply integrity and accountability. The Pharmacy Manager also oversees all pharmacy personnel, develops job descriptions and performance standards, prepares work schedules, and supports educational needs. Compliance with hospital policies and adherence to all federal, state, and local laws is essential.
Integration with the broader organization is critical, including strategic planning for the pharmacy, collaboration with associated departments, and participation in quality improvement programs and required committees. Maintaining current pharmacy licensure, attending management meetings, and assuming Staff Pharmacist duties when needed are also part of the role.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- PharmD degree from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy (BS Pharmacy degree also required)
- Current Colorado Pharmacy license in good standing
- Demonstrated leadership in pharmacy operations and clinical pharmacy services
- Strong knowledge of regulations, clinical judgment, communication, and teaching skills
- BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
- Mandatory flu vaccine (no exemptions accepted, required Oct 1 through Apr 1)
- EPIC experience is a must; Meditech training is a plus (facility transitioning from Meditech to EPIC)
Schedule/Hours:
- Day Shift, 40 hours per week
Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from Glenwood Springs, CO to comply with travel radius rules.
